Costco

/01
brief

Costco is looking to have their operants management system be able to be run via web and not locally. Currently is can only be accessed via a VPN and is constrained by a small window. It's slow and unresponsive at times and needs to be updated for modern computers.

/02
solution

To meticulously plan the redesign, I crafted three distinct user flow diagrams, each meticulously outlining the processes of three frequently encountered user tasks. Utilizing these user flows as a guide, I made informed design choices and emphasized key elements crucial for enhancing the inventory experience. This systematic method enabled me to harmonize the interface design with user requirements and optimize their interaction with Costco.

/03
deliverables

Using Figma, I transformed my wireframes into high-fidelity designs, breathing life into the user experience. Focused on addressing the four pain points identified through usability testing, my aim was to forge a visually cohesive interface, ensure consistency in interactions, deliver thorough and pertinent information, and enhance the efficiency of form completion.

/final words

My main goal was to maintain the core identity of the current management while enhancing and streamlining features that received positive feedback from users, and simplifying aspects that hindered their overall satisfaction. I crafted a design strategy that prioritized practical enhancements, taking into account the realistic implementation challenges. This method guaranteed that my design choices were not only favorable for user experience but also feasible within the company's operational framework.
